Zimbabwe vs South Africa Preview:
Zimbabwe( ZIM ) is set to face South Africa( SA ) in their 4th T20 match during the South Africa tour of Zimbabwe, 2025. This match is scheduled to take place at the Harare Sports Club on Sunday, July 20.
After a heavy defeat to New Zealand on Friday, Zimbabwe return to Harare on Sunday knowing they’ll need a serious turnaround if they want to compete with South Africa — let alone stay alive in the tri-series.
The Chevrons were outplayed in all departments, losing by eight wickets with over six overs to spare. Fans will be expecting a far more complete performance this time — both with bat and ball.
Zimbabwe’s top order got a few starts — Wessly Madhevere, Brian Bennett, Sikandar Raza, and Ryan Burl all chipped in — but none were able to kick on and post a meaningful score. That has to change if they’re to push South Africa.
With the ball, a lot rides on the shoulders of Blessing Muzarabani and Richard Ngarava. They’ll once again be key to Zimbabwe’s hopes of making early inroads and keeping South Africa in check.
South Africa, meanwhile, opened their campaign with a win over Zimbabwe last Monday, but their momentum was checked by New Zealand on Wednesday, falling 21 runs short.
Lungi Ngidi and Kwena Maphaka both picked up wickets in that game, but also leaked runs — they’ll want to tighten things up in this one. Left-arm spinner Senuran Muthusamy was a standout, finishing with a tidy 1 for 19 in his four overs, and will likely play a similar role again.
With the bat, South Africa will look to their top three — Dewald Brevis, Reeza Hendricks, and Lhuan-dre Pretorius — to set the tone and do most of the scoring.
On paper, South Africa still look far stronger, and few would bet against them getting past Zimbabwe again. But cricket doesn’t always follow the script — especially not in Harare.

ZIM vs SA Pitch Report:
The surface at Harare Sports Club generally offers a balanced contest between bat and ball. Early on, seamers may find some movement with the new ball, especially under overcast skies. As the game progresses, the pitch tends to flatten out, making it easier for batters to score. Spinners can also come into play in the middle overs, especially on worn-out surfaces. A score around 260–280 is often considered competitive in ODIs.
ZIM vs SA Weather Report:
Harare Sports Club, July 20, 1:00 PM: Expect mostly sunny skies with a temperature around 19 °C (66 °F). Light south-easterly winds will blow at about 9–15 mph (15–24 km/h), humidity near 37%, and no chance of rain.
