Dil Aur Deewaar is a Bollywood film that was released in the year 1978. It has been directed by K Bapaiah and produced by D Ramanaidu. It is a remake of the Telugu film Jeevana Tarangulu which was released in 1973. The film is based on the story of Vijay, portrayed by Jeetendra, a crime reporter. He is often seen helping the enforcement authorities in apprehending criminals. Before the death of Vijay’s stepmother, she asks him to look after his step-brother, Anand. Vijay believes that a girl named Saroj is taking advantage of Anand, which is why he secretly marries her and then goes on to abandon her. Vijay’s mentor Rai saheb who had deserted his wife unknowingly hires Saroj as a lady servant to look after two of his daughters. Among his two daughters is Laxmi who is already in love with Vijay albeit secretly, while the other daughter is disabled and uses a wheelchair. Vijay and Laxmi’s father want her to marry Anand, but she doesn’t oblige. Saroj is determined to honour her marriage, but the response and efforts from Vijay aren’t the same.
